Unfortunately most homes in Perth 80+ years ago were not designed for the new modern "sectional" garage door. Back then the norm was the old "Tilta" door which was renowned for its own set of problems. It was a great door at the time and could be manually opened with a handle. Unfortunately if you parked too close the door would not/could not open. The ceiling structures and supports being different (back then) in most situations are not usable for todays "headroom" needy sectional doors.
